Project - Graven Hill, Bicester - No 3
Our third install on the Graven Hill developmentClient Brief
The clients contacted Home Automate in early 2019 for their first self-build property on the recently popular Graven Hill development. The client we're looking for a smart control system to integrate all the different third party elements they had chosen for their home and looked to Home Automate to create a suitable solution.
Working alongside the clients lighting designer and other third party companies who were supplying their products to the development, Home Automate create a project that fell in-line with the customer's needs. This even included utilising Home Automate's electrical installers for the rest of the properties electrical installation.
The properties design was proposed around a social hub of a large kitchen, living and dining area, this central hosting area needed to maintain the properties minimalist design but also be able to create suitable moods with bespoke lighting configuration and background atmospheric music. A key element for the clients was a simplistic approach of the control elements so the property didn't feel full of technology and screens.
As with all Home Automate installations, the system will boast many automated processes from independent room heating controls to motion sensor lighting at chosen times to enhance the homeowner's experience.
Our Solution
Following the brief from the client, Home Automate worked to create a smart home solution which was tailored to the client's needs.
Control
- The core system utilised is Loxone. This meant that the client could benefit from touch switches which discretely hid the smart home controls and prevented the requirement of screens throughout the property but also flexibility on the integration of third-party elements.
Lighting
- The project included the integration of third-party lighting and utilised their lighting designers expertise to create the atmosphere they desired. These elements are to be controlled by a mixture of dimming functionality and relay (on/off) controls, dependent on client preference.
Entertainment
- Loxone speakers and music server was integrated to create a multi-room experience across several different rooms to provide a seamless audio experience of the atmospheric Loxone speaker.
Heating
- We worked with the clients underfloor heating supplier to ensure that there were optimal floor temperature readings to protect their large floor tiles throughout the ground floor.
- This also meant ensuring that the system worked as designed with constant hot water circulation to ensure that heating would be applied on a room by room basis when requested.
Security
- Boasting a DoorBird D2101V doorbell which offers motion detection, live video display, video recording and two-way voice interaction so the client would be able to manage this when away from the property but also be able to answer the door from anywhere inside the property within checking the door.
- Full external CCTV coverage with Lilin camera's means that the client has full knowledge of everything happening around their property.
- Bespoke security features were implemented to increase security at the property.
